This morning the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Community of Madrid has presented the report Economic impact of advertising film production in the Community of Madrid (2019-2020) prepared by SCOPEN in collaboration with the Association of Advertising Film Producers (APCP ). The study, carried out at the end of 2020, aims to offer an x-ray of the advertising film sector today , its economic and social impact and its challenges and needs. It was presented in an in-person event with reduced capacity at the headquarters of the Department of Culture, Tourism and Sports of the Community of Madrid and was broadcast live via streaming. The report has analyzed the turnover volume, the destination of the turnover, the economic activity generated and the volume of personnel hiring, as well as the impact of COVID-19 on this industry.
In 2019, the turnover volume of the production companies stood at approximately 388 million euros , and the Community of Madrid represented 37.1% of the total. However, in the difficult 2020 marked by the Phone Number List pandemic, production companies experienced negative growth of more than 20% in both billing volume and number of projects. Disadvantages of advertising cinema Madrid According to the SCOPEN and APCP report, 4 out of every 10 production companies that carry out projects in Madrid find themselves with the same facilities to carry out production projects as in other European cities and only 8.3% consider that producing in Madrid has fewer facilities. . On the other hand, the study reveals that in 2019, 80,282 jobs were created by Spanish production companies, 34,842 of which were created in the Community of Madrid. Personnel expenses were close to 170 million euros , 44% of total turnover in Spain and 51% in the Community of Madrid. During the presentation, some of the recent advertisements that have been filmed in Madrid locations were shared, and the role of the Community of Madrid as a national and international reference for advertising film productions was recalled.
