The "anti-defamation" legal package that is expected to be approved in Albania proves that the more power a politician gives, the more insecure he feels. All the more it seeks to curtail the freedom of others. Prime Minister Edi Rama enjoys today a power that no one has had before, in Albania, since the second half of 1996 of President Sali Berisha. In this situation, public concern should be normal and Albanians, like any other society in the world, should find ways to coexist with the Internet world in which they are involved. However, the package offered by the government does not aim to fight the problems and negative phenomena of today's media, rather it is a blatant attempt to control even the few voices that have remained critical.
